"For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" Matthew 5:18 (KJV)

THE RIBBON AT THE END OF THE DAY

I love it when God speaks His Word throughout the day and then at the end ties it up in a beautiful ribbon!

I listen to Dr. David Jeremiah each morning. This morning he was speaking on the sanctity of marriage. He had statistics on the failures of marriage in and out of the church.  He talked about how common and acceptable it is for couples to live together outside of marriage and even the Church seems to accept this arrangement.  This is against God's Word and should not be acceptable in Christian communities.

In my car I'm listening to an audio book Choosing Gratitude by Nancy Leigh DeMoss.  What I heard today was the importance of showing gratitude to others.  Not only thanking them for things they say and do, but for what they mean to me in my life.  Praising others for who they are in Christ and the example they set. Also, being grateful for what I have and not wanting more.

This evening I read a chapter from Trusting God by Jerry Bridges and underlined this "I am where I am today, not because I have always made wise decisions or correctly discovered the will of God as particular points along the way, but because God has faithfully led me and guided me along the path of His will for me".

Now this all seemed to be separate information not particularly woven together until I read Hebrews 13:1-6 out of the Message.

"Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it's needed.  Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them. Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them had happened to you. Honor marriage and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex.
Don't be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, "I'll never let you down, never walk off and leave you," we can boldly quote,
        "God is there, ready to help;
        I'm fearless no matter what.
        Who or what can get to me?"

Thank you God for speaking so boldly through all types of media, but mostly through your Word!
